Coaching Philosophy: I believe in commitment. If you want to be truly successful at something, there are certain things you have to give up. You cannot be good at everything just the same as you cannot make everyone happy. The choices you make in sports, while difficult, are nowhere near as difficult as the choices you will make in life. Teach yourself to fully commit, because eventually, you will have to pick something that you are good at, and excel in that area, and pick something that doesn't work and get rid of it. "Good enough" is not good enough, you can always be better.

Favorite Quote: "If you become 1/100th of a percent better today than your opponent, in 22.46 days you will be 25% better than they will be." Carl McGown, Former Head Men's Volleyball Coach Brigham Young University, illustrating improvement using the compound interest formula for motor skills.

Best Volleyball Moment: When our RSV 18-Orange beat Downstate 18-Black in three sets on day one of GEVA regionals 2013 to send us to day two. It was a full team effort and everyone came out strong that day against a really strong team.
